Why Do I Need an Independent Health Visitor?

Are you pregnant or a new parent needing support?

Have you experienced a pregnancy loss or stillbirth?

Are you feeling low, anxious or need someone to talk to?

Do you need support after your midwife or maternity nurse visits have ended?

Do you need advice about your toddler?

Do you need advice in the evenings, weekends or 1:1 support at home?

                                   Then look no further!

Over the years regular home visits and support offered by health visitors has changed due to various reasons which include National Health Service (NHS) initiatives, service transformations, financial pressures, staff shortages and the need to prioritise vulnerable families.

IHVOL is a new independent service and provides:

  • Evening and weekend visits in the comfort of your home
  • Out-of-hours email and telephone support
  • Antenatal and postnatal care
  • Infant feeding support
  • Emotional suppport
  • Sleep consultancy
  • Bespoke services to meet your needs and
  • Services in the community e.g. at Private Clinics, Mother & Baby Units & Children's Centres.

At IHVOL we offer a friendly, caring and professional, client-led health visiting service, tailored to meet your needs; at a time that suits you. We are available Tuesday - Friday, between 17:00 - 21:00 and Weekends 10:00 - 16:00.

You will still be able to access your NHS health visitor, however, as new parents or parents-to-be you may need additional support and guidance about caring for yourself, your baby or family. One size does not fit all!
